Frequently asked questions
Getting started
Do I need an account?
No. HoneyList uses the iCloud account that is already on your iPhone. There is no HoneyList account and nothing to sign up for.
Make sure you are signed in to iCloud and that HoneyList may use iCloud: iOS Settings → your name → iCloud. In HoneyList, Settings → Your Name is the name others see next to the items you add.
How do I change the language?
HoneyList uses your iPhone's language when it is English, Czech, German, Spanish or Ukrainian, and English otherwise. To pick another language, open Settings → Language in HoneyList, then restart the app.
Shared lists
How do I share a list?
Open the list, tap the share button (or ··· → Share Checklist) and send the invitation with Messages, Mail or any messenger. The person taps the link, and HoneyList asks them to join.
Each invitation admits one person. To invite several people, share once for each of them.
On iOS 26, the owner can also turn on Allow requests through the list link in Participants. People who open the list's Group Link can then ask to join, and the owner accepts or declines each request under Requests.
How do I remove someone or stop sharing?
Open the list → ··· → Participants. There you choose what each person may do (Can Edit or View Only), remove a person, or tap Stop Sharing.
A removed person loses the list and can come back only with a new invitation. When you stop sharing, the participants lose the list, and you keep it with all its items.
How do I leave a list someone shared with me?
On the lists screen, swipe the list to the left and tap Leave, or touch and hold it and choose Leave List. Leaving needs an internet connection.
How do I report a list?
In a list that someone else owns, open ··· → Report. It starts an email to us with the list and its owner filled in.
HoneyList has no servers and cannot see or change anyone's lists. You can also leave the list, or ask its owner to remove the person who adds unwanted content.
Sync and notifications
Changes don't show up on another iPhone
Check that both iPhones are online and signed in to iCloud. In HoneyList, Settings → Sync shows the unsynced changes; tap Sync Now.
If items that were deleted elsewhere still show, tap Repair Sync. It compares this iPhone with iCloud and removes what is gone.
I don't get notifications
Check that notifications are allowed for HoneyList in iOS Settings → Notifications, and that Settings → Notifications → Enable Notifications is on in HoneyList.
Also check the list's own settings (··· → Notification Settings), your Quiet Hours, and whether Daily Summary is on: then you get one summary instead of separate notifications. With Ignore My Own Actions on, your own changes from your other devices don't notify you.
Smart features don't work
Sorting by store section and filling in quantities use Apple Intelligence on your iPhone. They need iOS 26, an iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence, and Apple Intelligence turned on in iOS Settings → Apple Intelligence & Siri. Right after you turn it on, it may need a few minutes to get ready.
Everything else in HoneyList works without them.
Photos
How do I add a photo to an item?
Swipe the item to the right and tap Photo, or touch and hold the item and choose Photo. Then tap Take Photo or Choose from Library.
Each item can have one photo. Adding photos needs HoneyList Pro.
How do I replace or delete a photo?
Tap the photo's thumbnail in the item, then tap Replace or Delete.
Who can see and add photos?
Everyone in the list sees its photos. People with HoneyList Pro who can edit the list can add them; participants with View Only cannot.
Why is a photo blurred?
Sensitive Content Warning is turned on in iOS. HoneyList then checks photos from other people on your iPhone and blurs the ones that may be sensitive. Tap Show to see the photo.
A photo doesn't load or doesn't upload
If you see Photo not downloaded yet, tap Retry.
Photos are stored in the iCloud of the list's owner and use the owner's iCloud storage. While that iCloud is full, new photos wait until there is room. Settings → Sync → Photos shows how much your photos use.
Does a photo keep its location?
No. Before a photo is uploaded, HoneyList removes its location and other metadata and makes it smaller.
HoneyList Pro
How many lists can I create?
One list of your own for free, and up to 50 with HoneyList Pro. Lists that others share with you don't count.
What does Pro include?
Up to 50 lists of your own and photos on items. Pro is a one-time purchase, and Family Sharing shares it with your family.
Your data
How do I delete my data?
Delete your lists in HoneyList (swipe a list to the left and tap Delete) and leave the lists others shared with you. Deleting a list you shared also removes it for its participants.
Deleting the app removes its data from this iPhone, but not from iCloud. To delete HoneyList's data from iCloud, open iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Storage (or Manage Account Storage) → HoneyList → Delete Data from iCloud.
