HoneyList Privacy Policy
1. Who is responsible
HoneyList is developed by Artem Ovechkin, who is responsible for this app and this website (the “developer”, “we”). You can reach us at honeylist.support@gmail.com.
2. In short
- HoneyList has no servers of its own. Your lists are stored on your devices and in iCloud.
- There are no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and there is no HoneyList account.
- We cannot see or read your lists, items, photos or names, unless you send them to us yourself, for example in a report.
3. Your lists, items and photos
Everything you create in HoneyList (lists, items, quantities, photos) is stored on your device and in your iCloud account through Apple's CloudKit. Apple stores and protects this data under Apple's privacy policy. The developer has no access to it.
A list you share lives in your iCloud and is visible to the people you share it with. A list someone shares with you lives in that person's iCloud. Photos in a shared list are stored in the iCloud of the list's owner and use the owner's iCloud storage.
4. Your name
HoneyList shows other people who added or changed an item. For this it uses the name you type in Settings → Your Name. It is saved with your items in iCloud and is visible to the people in your shared lists, also in their notifications.
The Participants screen shows the names that iCloud provides for the people in a list. HoneyList shows them on your device and does not store them.
5. Invitation links
When you share a list, HoneyList makes the invitation link (on iOS 26 also the list's group link) shorter with the link service short.io (domain familist.short.gy). The app sends short.io only the link itself, never list titles, items or names; like any web service, short.io also receives your device's IP address with the request. Short.io stores the link and may record visits to it under its privacy policy.
6. Photos
HoneyList opens the camera or your photo library only when you choose to add a photo, and uses only the photo you pick. Before the photo is uploaded, HoneyList makes it smaller on your device and removes its location and other metadata.
When Sensitive Content Warning is on in iOS, HoneyList checks photos from other people on your device with Apple's SensitiveContentAnalysis framework and blurs the ones that may be sensitive. The check runs entirely on your device, and its result is not sent anywhere.
7. Smart features
Sorting a list by store section and reading quantities from what you type use Apple's on-device language model (Apple Intelligence). Your items are processed on your iPhone and are never sent to an AI service, to Apple or to us.
8. Notifications
Notifications about changes in your shared lists are delivered through Apple's Push Notification service. Their text is put together on your device from your iCloud data; no notification content passes through any HoneyList server.
9. News in the app
HoneyList shows news from the developer, which it reads from a public iCloud database. Nothing about you is sent when news is loaded or read.
10. Purchases
HoneyList Pro is sold through the App Store. Apple handles the payment; we do not receive your payment details. Apple gives developers sales reports that do not identify you.
11. Support email
If you write to us, we receive your email address and your message through Gmail (Google). A report about a list (··· → Report) also contains the list's title and the name its owner uses in HoneyList. We use this only to answer you and to handle the report, keep it as long as needed for that, and delete it when you ask us to. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering you and keeping shared lists safe (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
12. Diagnostics
HoneyList contains no third-party code for analytics, advertising or crash reporting. If you turned on Share With App Developers in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements, Apple may share crash reports and usage statistics with us that do not identify you.
13. This website
This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no content from other websites. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes the IP addresses of visitors to deliver the pages and protect the site, under Cloudflare's privacy policy. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in delivering and securing the website (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
14. Children
HoneyList is a family app. Apart from the support emails people choose to send us, we do not collect personal data from anyone, children included.
15. Deleting your data
- Delete your lists in HoneyList, and leave lists others shared with you. Deleting a list you shared also removes it for its participants.
- Deleting the app removes its data from your device, but not from iCloud.
- To delete HoneyList's data from iCloud, open iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Storage (or Manage Account Storage) → HoneyList → Delete Data from iCloud.
- To have your support emails deleted, write to us at honeylist.support@gmail.com.
16. Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to access, correct and delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, to receive it in a portable form, and to complain to a data protection authority.
Your lists and photos are in your iCloud account, where you can view and delete them yourself; Apple handles requests about iCloud data. For anything the developer holds (only support emails, reports included), write to us at honeylist.support@gmail.com.
Apple, Google, short.io and Cloudflare may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States, under their own safeguards for such transfers.
17. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we publish the new version on this page with a new effective date.
